I:T Guidelines For Product Review

If you are a game publisher and are looking for an independent review of your game or game-related product, then you have found the right page! We get many requests to do reviews, as well as requests to cover crowdfunding projects. We do our best to get our feelers out there and write about projects and games when we can, but we can’t find them all!

We do not, and will not, charge for our review services, but having a physical copy of your game will help us help you. To contact us about reviewing a game, or if you have more questions, please feel free to email us at info@initiativetabletop.com and mention ‘Review’ in the title. We get to reviews as quickly as we can, and while we do have a handful of writers, there are 2 main people working behind the scenes for reviews right now. We reach out to family and gaming groups local to us for assistance in playing these games, so if you have a desired turn-around time on a review, please mention that to us and we will do our best to accommodate.

We are currently backed up on RPG reviews. We will not turn down requests, but please be aware before you email us about an RPG that they will not be quick turn-arounds. Thank you for your understanding.

Specifically for crowdfunding projects, please keep these things in mind :

  • Contacting us before your project launches, or soon after its launch, is best. We take time to analyze many aspects of the game such as playing it in every mode that it is made for (i.e. various player numbers, campaigns, etc) and need the time to form our opinions and provide an honest view of the game. If it is a game-related product, we do take the time to use it for its intended purpose and make opinions based on its functionality.
  • Our articles are hand-written, and save for a specific quote from a member of the company, we don’t copy directly from press releases. The more information you can give us about the game, the better we are able to cover it and get it out there.
  • If you are unable to contact us in time for a review before your crowdfunding ends, but it is successful and you’d like to get some independent reviews on it, please do not hesitate to contact us about reviewing a final copy once you have them available.
