Mythic Games is the new studio born from the co-creators of the Conan board game, and though they’ve just launched they’re packing a lot of power behind their first announcement. The comapany’s first release, Mythic Battles: Pantheon, will be making its North American debut at Gen Con, which is just a week away. Attendees of the convention will be the first gamers in North America to play as a famous god of Greek mythology, assemble warriors, lead troops into battle, create their own Pantheon and become the new ruler of Olympus.
The mighty Titans of Greek lore awoke and unleashed a massive attack on Olympus. While the Titans were ultimately defeated, the world is ravaged and the surviving Olympians now mere mortals. As the former Gods awake to a broken world, Mythic Battles: Pantheon begins their adventure through Olympus, Styx and the Labyrinth of Minos to regain the glory left decimated by the wrath of the Titans. Playing as Zeus, Athena or any number of Greek gods alongside an army of heroes such as Achilles and Hercules and monsters such as the Hydra, Cerberus and Medusa, in victory players will be a god.
Even the game’s Project Manager, Léonidas Vesperini, is excited, saying, “After more than a year in development and extensive playtests in Europe, we can’t wait to bring Mythic Battles: Pantheon to the states. With more than 60,000 attendees who are passionate about tabletop games, Gen Con is the perfect place for Mythic Battles: Pantheon to make its North American debut.”
There will be Learn-To-Play games of Mythic Battles: Panetheon running in the Event Hall from 10AM-8PM each day during Gen Con and you can grab some tickets to the event on the Gen Con page. The game will hit Kickstarter in the fall, later this year, and its anticipated release is during the summer of 2017. Strap your sandles on and head to Olympus this year at Gen Con!
