Last year during Gen Con we had a great time hanging out at the Syrinscape booth. There were lots of new features that were unveiled for the PC application, including the ability to make sounds clickable objects that sit right on your desktop. Something I noticed while we were at the booth was that there were attendees constantly coming up to record themselves for the app. I knew that Benjamin (Loomes) was working on something big, but I didn’t know exactly what at the time. Well, now all things have been revealed as Syrinscape has announced their new Gen Con SoundSet, allowing you to take the sounds of Gen Con with you no matter the time of year.
The Syrinscape Gen Con SoundSet takes attendees right to the crowds and stalls of the legendary Gen Con Exhibit Hall, regales with cosplayers and character stories and unleashes a massive monster attack on the convention. Further, the new SoundSet includes the mighty roar of the official Gen Con dragon courtesy of 2015 attendee Simon Cantwell, whose humungous and terrifying vocals won out over many others who auditioned for this historic honor. There are more than 600 samples in this new set, contributed by the awesome volunteers and attendees of the convention.
You can get this new SoundSet for $3.99, and with it all of the joy of Gen Con. I don’t know if this soundset will help cure the post-con depression, but it’s certainly worth a shot! What’s more is that attendees of this year’s Gen Con will have a chance to lend their voices to the upcoming Gates of Hell SoundSet, and you can do so by visiting booth 1143 throughout the convention. If you’d like to bring the sounds of Gen Con with you wherever you go, give this new SoundSet a shot. You can check out a demo of the set below!
