Fragged Empire’s Protagonist Archive is Now Live on Kickstarter

Fragged Empire Protagonist Archive

Not long ago I wrote about a new sci-fi RPG that I fell madly in love with a game I came across called Fragged Empire. The game was created by the mad genius that is Wade Dyer, and it had an immensely successful run on Kickstarter. With a successful launch, Wade set out to build the world as richly as he could. Now the game is back on Kickstarter, but this time it’s in the form of a player supplement and miniatures for the game.

The new supplement, called the Protagonist Archive, focuses on introducing four new playable races to the game. Each of these new races has their own full, rich backstory that adds fresh air to the Haven system and world created in Fragged Empire. Take a look below at some information on the new races:

Fragged Empire Remnant

The Remnant

Betraying their Archon creators, the Remnant sided with the invading Nephilim during the Great War. But this was all for naught as they themselves were betrayed, and exterminated. This would have been their end if it were not for the arrival of an immensely powerful entity known as the All-Being some thirty years later, raising tens of thousands from the dead. The Remnant became a new, spiritually focused, people. Forever seeking to discover the true nature of the All-Being, and to learn why they, traitors, were brought back to life.

The Palantor

The Palantor

During the Great War, the Archons thought they were adapting Human created software to produce the mechanical horrors known as Mechonids, but in truth they were ham-fistedly warping sentient and fully aware digital Human minds into sociopathic killers.

Despite the Great War ending, the Mechonids continue to harvest these minds to create more of their own. Forcing these digital beings, known as the Palantor, to flee back into a physical existence that they had not experienced for over three millennia.

The Twi-Far

The Twi-Far

Born and raised in space, the Twi-Far are two sentient species inhabiting a single body, but with limited ability to communicate to each other. The Archon created race known as the Twilinger, and an energy based alien race of unknown origin known as the Faren.

The Zhou

The Zhou

Pushing themselves far beyond their created purpose to be no more than an Archon created biological weapon. The Zhou must now struggle against their unquenchable hunger if they are to coexist alongside the other races.

Each race looks to be completely badass on their own, but I’m most excited about the Remnants. They have a HUGE part of their fiction tied in with the game’s overarching storyline, which makes me tingle thinking about being able to play them. I will say, though, that the Palantor are running a definite second out of these new races.

Through this Kickstarter you can also purchase resin miniatures of the iconic characters representing each race. The miniatures are multi-part, 32mm heroic scale and made out of tough resin to stand up on the tabletop. Not only can you use these miniatures to bring your games of Fragged Empire to life, but you can also use them in the upcoming skirmish game that Wade has planned for the universe. Each miniature will cost you roughly $15 each, and the Protagonist Archive will run you $38. There’s also an option to purchase some signed artwork cards for each race, so you can truly have it all! Make sure you get over to the Kickstarter and put down a pledge, as the campaign has already reached goal, and it’s all stretch goals going forward!
