Across the barnyard, a bleat is heard. Is that a…? Yes, yes it is. A goat-nado. This and other absurd goat-astrophes are making their way to full publication. Portals, internet trolls, zombie kitties, and more are also featured in We Have Goats! Oliver Smith, the creator behind We Have Goats! has put together his page in advance for folks to check out before the project goes live and can be seen here.

So, what exactly is We Have Goats!? A tile-laying racing game with a whole lot of craziness thrown in. You are a goat herder with one job. Just one. And you’ve already slacked off today. Three of your goats are missing. You now have to place land tiles to direct and protect your goats and get them back  in their pen!

You can build Goat Labs during the game to earn special abilities like using a Zombie Kitty, a Chupacabrasaurus, or meet characters such as Marty McGoat and Internet Trolls. Throughout the game you will also encounter goat-astrophes that can either help or harm your cause as you try to lead your goats back home.

The game is family friendly in its original version, but backers will get the option of adding a NSFW deck to the game that will make it fun after the kids go to bed. You can get an idea of these cards via the Kickstarter page, though you can’t see (yet?) what the cards do.

For only $29 you get the base game, which looks to be a good price for what looks to be great fun. Adding the NSFW deck brings the total to $39. Stretch goals for this game include improved card stock, some cheat sheets, upgrades to the chit boards, and more. We’re pretty excited to see this project go live and we really hope it funds. I’m looking forward to some more how-to-play videos, but they do have a link to a PDF of the rules available to get a feel for the game. What are you still doing here? Get the bleat out of here! You have goats to tend to.
