Ahhh, Friday. Spring has certainly crept up on us here in Texas, and we are grateful for the sun. As the weather outside warms up, so does the gaming community, and we’re excited to see the things that have come out so far this year, and the things still being announced. We hope you caught our reviews this week as we looked at Victory Point Games’ Darkest Night, and provided a peek at the full version of Maha Yodha. Here is your Quick News for this past week:

  • Looking for some cool fantasy miniatures for your games? Greenbrier Games, the folks behind Heavy Steam and ZPocalypse, have launched a new project to fund some nifty resin miniatures. It looks like they will easily reach their goals so check out what they have to offer and see what you can use!

  • The makers of Thunder Valley are back with a Fast & Furious board game! Fast & Furious: Full Throttle brings a fast paced board game in which you upgrade your ride, use nitro boosts at just the right time, and race to the finish.
  • If you’re a fan of COUP, you’ll want to see this. Indie Boards & Cards return with 25 different characters/roles to play in COUP: Rebellion G54.
  • If you’re interested in adding some cute to your game table, check out the Game Gear and Geekery Kickstarter. Pledging will get you anything from PDF patterns to crochet your own neat geek items, all the way to dice bags and game mats.

What We’re Playing/Doing

  • Raine has been quite busy with painting miniatures and making terrain for his side project, Lifeblood Terrain and Mini Painting.
  • We tried out Rogue Agent by Stronghold Games this week. While I felt like the rulebook was a bit exhaustive and confusing, once we actually played things made a lot of sense. I enjoyed the gameplay and look forward to playing more. Can’t wait for a 3 player game.
  • Ascension: Realms Unraveled made its way to the table again this week. I love the transformed hero mechanic.
