Author Information

One of Raine's biggest hobbies has always been gaming. It all started with an Atari and spread out to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. As an artist, Raine takes pride in painting models for games as well as making his own terrain. He's also been a writer for many years, working both in the journalism industry and writing pieces of fiction. He decided to create Initiative : Tabletop as a platform to talk about all things gaming that he simply thought were cool, and reviewing games became a part of it!

This year at Essen gamers will have the chance to check out the game live in the flesh so-to-speak. The game’s designer, Bruno Cathana, and game illustrator, Clement Masson, will be at the booth showing the game off to players who decide to visit and will even sign copies of it! Last, but not least, a special promo card will be available: the famous Djinn Dhenim!

Days of Wonder Small World Royal Bonus A Spiders Web

Two brand new expansions for Small World will also make their debut appearance. Royal Bonus, an expansion that was a digital exclusive, and A Spider’s Web, a brand new expansion, will be available at the convention. Each expansion adds new races to the game and offers new levels of play, bringing even more excitement to the small, yet amazing world.

Days of Wonder Ticket to Ride and Expansions

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the ever-popular Ticket to Ride. A brand new Tenth Edition version of the game includes all sorts of new goodies, including a giant US board map that’s a whopping 50% bigger than the original. It also includes five sets of finely sculpted, custom plastic trains, each featuring a different type of train car and unique paint scheme reminiscent of toy trains of the past. If you’re a fan of the game this will certainly be a must-have!
