One of Raine's biggest hobbies has always been gaming. It all started with an Atari and spread out to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. As an artist, Raine takes pride in painting models for games as well as making his own terrain. He's also been a writer for many years, working both in the journalism industry and writing pieces of fiction. He decided to create Initiative : Tabletop as a platform to talk about all things gaming that he simply thought were cool, and reviewing games became a part of it!

Bring Your Wargames into the Modern Era with the New Warzone Battle Mat from Deep-Cut Studio

Deep Cut Warzone Mat 4x4

Deep-Cut Studio has just released a brand new battle mat for your wargaming pleasure. This time you can bring your wargames into the modern era with the new Warzone mat, which features some broken streets and remnants of a world torn apart by war. Perfect for games of Warhammer, Warmachine, or even Dropzone Commander, the new Warzone mat will help bring your games into a new light.

As with their other battle mats the Warzone mat comes in three sizes: 3’x3′, 4’x4′, and 4’x6′. The mats are made from high-quality PVC which won’t tear or scratch easily. You can use water-based markers to write directly on the mat, and they wash off easily.

The Warzone mats are available now on the Deep-Cut webstore, and you can get one starting at around $30. We’ve gotten a couple of these mats in for review, and they surely stand up to the test when it comes to wargaming. Very soon we’ll be posting our review of the Highway to Hell mat, so keep a look out for it. If you’re in need of changing up your wargaming scenery, check out Deep-Cut Studio’s selection!

I think they would also be great as a backdrop for photographing models 🙂

Didn’t think about that! It’s a great idea!
