Star Realms: Crisis Expansion Coming For The Holidays

star realms crisis

Star Realms fans can finally stop asking the question : the first expansion is coming! White Wizard Games is giving gamers a choice in how they expand their game with a set of 4 different packs. Each pack will contain 12 cards and retail for $4.99, so purchasing all 4 isn’t unreasonable for the hardcore Star Realms player. I think this decision was a good one because of the new card types being introduced. Players that don’t want new mechanics don’t have to purchase a mass expansion containing cards they won’t use!

One pack is Bases and Battleships, meant to boost the power of your favored faction with new ships and bases with new powers. If you’re a fan of stocking your side of the board with bases, then Fleets and Fortresses is the base for you. The Death World base for the Blob players will be particularly exciting! Next up is the Events set, something new to the game. These cards affect all players and can take the game for a drastic turn. And finally, the last deck is Heroes. These cards can be used immediately upon purchase for their trash abilities. They align with some of the factions and can be counted as allies!

I’m really excited for these expansion packs, and I will certainly be grabbing all 4 of these packs. Check out the announcement on the Star Realms webpage for more details on each pack and some sneak peeks at some of the cards and the art on the packaging. There’s no official date yet, but we will update this page when one is announced. If you play, do you think you’ll pick up all 4 packs or just a couple?
