Tired of being confronted with players inquiring who they’ll encounter in an unanticipated tavern stop mid-game, the people at Catloaf Games came up with a solution. They are running a campaign on Kickstarter now for a deck of cards called Who Is In The Tavern?, hoping to provide those running RPG games with fast answers in those situations.
While these particular pledge levels are now sold out, they enabled backers to submit their own characters to use as NPC’s in this deck of cards, down to details of their appearance for the artist that Catloaf Games has hired to create a likeness of. The most recent stretch goal that was unlocked lets backers vote on items that will be available on a “What’s On The Menu” feature that will come with the game. The next goal will allow backers to vote on a drink menu as well.
I think that Who Is In The Tavern? will be a great asset to people running games for people. It looks like it can be easily converted into any RPG system, which could really make the deck practical for past, current, and future RPG systems. A $25 pledge will get you a deck at the stretch goals, so get on over to the funding page and check out the current art and your options! The funding will end on Friday, September 26th.
