When I play games like Pathfinder I usually tend to play a lot of half-orcs. In fact, in the most recent adventure we ran I played a half-orc monk that was a farmer. Half-orcs are a lot of fun to play, but when you’re a gamer like me who likes to match their miniatures to their characters as much as possible this sometimes breeds a problem. Sure, Reaper Miniatures has some half-orc models, but most of them are overly savage or not of the class I play.
After doing some searching on Kickstarter I came across a project that must have been reading my mind. Stonehaven Miniatures is currently running a campaign (that’s 3x funded) specifically for half-orc adventurer miniatures. They’re wanting to bring to life your favorite half-orc characters with style and ferocity that will meet your gaming needs.
Right now there are 6 types of half-orc models available and one extra tengu model. You can choose from the Strongarm, Fighter, Paladin, Monk, Ranger, and Archer. The half-orc Barbarian is the next model to be unlocked at a stretch goal. I know, it seems weird to wait on the half-orc Barbarian, but it looks like Stonehaven knows what they’re doing. In fact, I am pleasantly surprised that the campaign has gotten their funding as they have without showing one single photo of a completed/cast miniature. In their defense, though, I am a gamer that would fund a campaign such as this since I’ve been looking for this sort of thing for quite some time now.
The campaign has 22 days to go which means they’ll be smashing stretch goals for nearly the next month. If you’ve ever wanted to grab some half-orc models for whatever games you may be playing, this is the campaign that will deliver for you. For a pledge of $35 you can get a set of 5 half-orc adventurers of your choice, including the tengu and any other races they release during the campaign. That boils down to about $7 per model, which is pretty cheap. Make sure you check out the campaign and help Stonehaven smash stretch goals so we can see more models hit the lineup!
