Next Expansion For SolForge : Secrets of Solis

SolForge

SolForge has set out to be innovative with their hit card game, and with the third set’s release, they continue to do just that. This set, Secrets of Solis, contains 60 new cards with new mechanics to keep players on their toes and fresh new ways to learn and defeat their opponents. You can obtain these new cards through booster packs (containing 8 cards) or legendary chests (10 cards).

So what are the new mechanics? One new ability is called Consistent, which shuffles your deck to ensure that you’re going to draw the cards you need. Additionally, another mechanic is Solbind, which means that a card that has other cards attached to it in a deck will automatically bring those additional cards with it when it comes in to play. The example given by Stone Blade Entertainment is that a spellcaster would bring his spells, and an abomination lord would have his minions in tow.

Even with a morning hiccup with the iOS release, the update was available to players on its release date (August 20th) and looks to bring a breath of fresh air into the digital card game. New formats of play have been added to the game with the most recent update, as well as the ability to see the contents of your deck and discard pile so that planning ahead is viable. Getting these new cards is just a matter of playing the game and building on the experience one already has with the game as these new mechanics infiltrate the decks you, and your opponents play. I’m a little confused on the Consistent mechanic, but the best way to understand a mechanic is to see it in action, and I hope to do that this weekend.
