Those of you who have been following our site will undoubtedly know that I have a soft spot in my heart for gaming accessories – especially when it comes to miniature gaming terrain. Recently we’ve picked up the World of Warcraft miniatures game, and for those who don’t know, it’s fantastic. The only issue with the game is that it’s played on paper (or sometimes cardboard if you were lucky enough to grab a special map) terrain. Now I’ve seen some people use Heroscape terrain for the game, which works out rather well, but there’s a new company in town that’s offering a solution that will no doubt fit well with this game as well as many others. That company is Yeti Militia Games and their new project, HyGround Tiles, is now up on Kickstarter.
HyGround 3D Terrain Tiles is a modular gaming tile system, which snaps together, to present pleasant looking and tactically challenging landscape scenarios for your miniature gaming needs. The revolutionary crown system allows for easy manipulation of terrain textures. The detailed tile textures and accessories have been beautifully hand sculpted for the discerning gamer and then integrated with CAD engineering for precision fitting. This modular game system allows you to create completely different designs every time you build the game board. It’s perfectly suited for grid movement games like Heroscape, BattleTech, etc, and since the design creates an almost seamless base, the system supports area movement games as well, including games like Warhammer.
For a pledge of $70 you will get a full set of HyGround Tiles, complete with trees and plenty of other accents to help bring your gaming to life. A full set will cover 781 square inches of table space, so there will be plenty for you to create with. I’m especially excited to check these out for use with the World of Warcraft miniatures game, but who knows, I may even use them with Warmachine and Malifaux as well!
Make sure you don’t miss out on this campaign. These tiles seriously look awesome, and they’re perfect for Heroscape fans and miniatures games fanatics alike. There’s plenty of time left on the Kickstarter, so head on over and slap down a pledge!
