I:T Seminar at Gen Con 2014 – Details and Info [Gen Con 2014]

We know it’s been a bit hectic around here lately, what with the office move and whatnot. We’ve been doing a lot of planning since Gen Con is less than two weeks away, and we’re going over some last-minute reviews we need to put together. We want to thank our readers for all of their patience and as a reward for sticking with us we’re finally ready to release the details for our seminar that will be taking place at the convention this year.

We’ve mentioned it a couple of times in the past, but for some time the seminar remained in its planning stages. Now that we’ve had some time to get things together most of our ideas have been ironed out. With that, let’s take a look at what you can look forward to at the I:T Meet and Greet 2014!

First of all, the seminar’s Event I.D. is SEM1454257. It will be taking place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in room Pennsylvania Station A at 8PM on Friday, August 15th. There are still a few tickets available, so head over to the Gen Con official site to sign up! During the seminar we’ll have plenty of things to talk about. First of all we’d like to get to know you and for you to get to know us. We’ll chat a bit about who we are behind the reviews, including some of our favorite games and more. Aside from this little icebreaker we’ll be focusing on these topics:

  • Our history in gaming/how we got into gaming
  • How I:T got started – idea and fruition
  • How I:T has grown since its start – new editors, new relationships with publishers, new local support
  • Relationships with publishers
  • Requirements of work
  • Rewards for work
  • Ideas for content and scheduling
  • The future of I:T – Where do we see ourselves headed?

We will have resources open to showcase our site, including a sign-up form to follow our posts. Also, if you’ve ever wanted to get into writing in the gaming industry, whether you want to learn how we cover news or write reviews of your own for others to see, we’ll have a sign-up sheet available for you. We’d love to welcome new talent to our site! Other resources will showcase our YouTube channel, where you can see all of our videos on game reviews/etc that we’ve done.

Perhaps what I’m most excited about is our giveaway we’ll be hosting at the seminar. Each person who attends will get a raffle ticket. At the end of the seminar we’ll draw tickets for prizes in the giveaway! We’ve been lucky enough to have AEG, Game Salute, and more offer support for the event, so there will be plenty to hand out! Not to mention everyone who attends will receive a pair of the dice pictured above in this post. There are plenty of reasons to come out!

We really hope to see you all out at the seminar, and we can’t wait to get things rolling. Leading up to Gen Con we hope to pump out a couple of video reviews/previews, and we’ll continue to do our best to get content up on the site until then. Thanks for sticking with us, and make sure you share this news with your friends. We want to have a full house!
