One of Raine's biggest hobbies has always been gaming. It all started with an Atari and spread out to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. As an artist, Raine takes pride in painting models for games as well as making his own terrain. He's also been a writer for many years, working both in the journalism industry and writing pieces of fiction. He decided to create Initiative : Tabletop as a platform to talk about all things gaming that he simply thought were cool, and reviewing games became a part of it!

Gen Con Partners with Games & Gears to Release Exclusive Gen Con 2014 Items [Gen Con 2014]

Gen Con Art 2014

Gen Con has partnered with Games & Gears to bring some exclusive items to Gen Con 2014. Together the companies will be releasing a Gen Con Collector’s Series Brush size 0, and a Limited Edition Gen Con Adventurers Tavern terrain piece. Both items are available for pre-order right now, and Games & Gears has been named the official Miniature Hobby Events partner for the 2014 convention.

To get your pre-orders in for these items, head on over to the official Games & Gears website. The collector’s brush features a Kolinsky sable-hair head piece, Gen Con branding, and an exclusive carrying case. The tavern terrain piece is extremely detailed and is composed of high-quality resin.

“As is evident from their first-class quality products, Games & Gears clearly understands what gamers want, and they have produced items that perfectly complement the Gen Con brand,” said Scott Elliott, Vice President of Gen Con. “We are honored to be in partnership with Gen Con and proud to be manufacturing the Gen Con Collectors Series Brush Size 0,” said a representative of the Games & Gears team. “This limited edition next generation hobby brush is a must for collectors, and we look forward to doing more sizes for collectors every year.”

I am excited for both of these products and more coming from the convention this year. As a wargamer nut, I can really appreciate both the quality and design of Games & Gear’s products. Make sure you get your pre-orders in now, because I don’t suspect these lasting for long!
