The sixth and final adventure pack for the Lord of the Rings LCG’s Ring-maker cycle has been announced on the FFG website, and it looks awesome. The Antlered Crown takes your heroes through a war-ridden Dunland on your way back to Isengard. Included is a new scenario taking your heroes into the heart of the war, a new Rohan hero card, and as usual, three copies of each player card.
While many of the other sets for the Ring-maker cycle have focused on Silvan traits, the Ents are returning to assert their place in the history of Middle Earth. Combined with the Ents from Celembrimbor’s Secret, these slow but impressionable creatures can leave devastating marks on a game. While they can be coerced to fight for your cause, they take their sweet time preparing themselves for battle, as all Ents come into play exhausted.
The Booming Ent, for example, gains strength as its fellow Ents are injured. This Ally can quickly become the backbone of your attacking army if you defend right in a game. Additionally, we will see Treebeard enter the fight in this set. He collects resources just like your Heroes do, but you can spend them to play Ents from your hand, as well as spend them to ready Ents already on the table.
You must deliver the information gathered to Saruman the White, and you must do it despite the war that is raging around you. With the aid of the Ents, your heroes may find safe passage through Dunland and back to Isengard. The last of the Ring-maker cycle is set to see shelves in the last quarter of 2014.
