Free RPG Day – Saturday June 21st

free rpg day

In 2007, a tradition of bringing the various role-playing games of the world to everyone’s hands began. Asking publishers to provide samplings of their game systems for retail gatherings, Free RPG Day was started. The date for this year’s event is Saturday, June 21st, and is taking place at a local game store near you!

Companies such as Paizo, Q-Workshop, Chessex, and many more sponsor the event to bring awareness to those who might be curious about RPG’s, but don’t know where to start. Each store has the freedom to run the day as they please, but you will frequently find a large selection of sample adventures and information on many RPG’s! Depending on the amount of product that your store is carrying, you can walk out with one or more samplings of games you might want to give a try before delving into them.

Free RPG Day is a great way to learn more about games you’re unfamiliar with, as well as getting friends and loved ones to find one that interests them. They are currently sold out of product so any retailers who haven’t already signed up will be out of luck for this year. Check out the Free RPG Day website to find a store close to you that is participating, and head on out for some RPG fun!
