Author Information

One of Raine's biggest hobbies has always been gaming. It all started with an Atari and spread out to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. As an artist, Raine takes pride in painting models for games as well as making his own terrain. He's also been a writer for many years, working both in the journalism industry and writing pieces of fiction. He decided to create Initiative : Tabletop as a platform to talk about all things gaming that he simply thought were cool, and reviewing games became a part of it!

Quick News April 11 – April 17

Initiative Tabletop Group

Another week has come and gone, and boy are we tired! We got a lot of work done this week, though you’ll have to wait until next week to see the fruits of our labor. Some exciting things are coming up soon, such as the Game Auction at our FLGS. I love these events because you can really score some treasures on the cheap! Hopefully we can acquire some of those hard-to-get games and unload some of our own. Enough about that, though, it’s time for the Quick News!

Announcements and Releases

  • Fantasy Flight Games announced Dark Heresy Second Edition, an updated version of the Warhammer 40,000 role-playing game.
  • The Pounder is now available for the Allies in Dust: Tactics from Battlefront Miniatures.
  • Fantasy Flight also announced the 2014 Tournament Kits for Game of Thrones, Netrunner, and X-Wing.
  • The dates for Days of Ice and Fire have been announced, and the event will take place at the Fantasy Flight Games Center.

Around the Office

  • Jacob and Christina have been diving deep into their games to help sort them out before the auction. Together they’ve gotten Zpocalypse, Snake Oil, Cinque Terre, and Quarriors! to the table.
  • Raine and Kae have been blasting through review games, and they got The Agents and Colossal Cave on the table and out of the review bin!

We’re still gearing up for the move, but that hasn’t stopped us from making sure we’ve got content to go up in the meantime. I’m excited for the content going up next week, and I hope you’ll stick around to see it. We’re almost through the games we’ve got to review, but that opens up the door for time to work on all of our other ideas. I’m sure more things will arrive at the office soon, so we’ll stay on track! See you next week, gamers!
