Pirates and Bounty Hunters Coming to Firefly : The Game

Firefly Pirates and Bounty Hunters

Firefly fans, prepare yourselves, for a new expansion is coming to the ‘Verse. The new expansion, Pirates & Bounty Hunters brings PVP to the game, as you can board other ships and steal their loot! However, for those groups that don’t find stealing from other players to be appealing, certain parts of the expansion can be removed to fit a non-PVP group.

Pirates & Bounty Hunters presents a new kind of Job called a Bounty, which will identify 3 Fugitives at a time. If you choose to pick up a bounty and manage to board a rival ship that is carrying the fugitive, you get the chance to perform one task or another (which will vary by fugitive) to either apprehend them, or fail the mission and get chased back to your own ship. If a space is emptied from the 3 face-up Fugitive cards, its immediately refilled. When an Alliance Cruiser Nav card is drawn, the 3 fugitive cards are placed at the bottom of the Bounty deck and 3 new cards are drawn.

The best part? The fugitive can be in your own crew. I love that betrayal of self, to decide if you’re willing to remove a member of your crew for money. The target can be on a planet, in your own crew, or on a rival ship. Check out Firefly: The Game‘s webpage for more details on the new rules that come with Pirates & Bounty Hunters, and how to pre-order the expansion for your Firefly gaming group! The expansion is expected to hit stores in the first week of May!
