Wizards of the Coast Announces Duel Decks: Speed vs. Cunning

Duel Decks Speed vs Cunning

Magic: the Gathering players have had their hands full with the previous Born of the Gods set release, and many of them are gearing up for the final set in the block, Journey into Nyx. Wizards of the Coast has been working diligently on the current block but that’s not stopped them from their side work for the non-Standard players. The company has just announced Duel Decks: Speed vs. Cunning, the newest release in the Duel Decks series.

From the announcement, here is the description of the upcoming release:

Racing across the blazing steppe, the wave of attackers crests the barren hills. Nothing can stop their reckless advance. These warriors live fast, fight hard, and strike terror into the hearts of those in their path. The scarred countryside seems abandoned. Then, suddenly, hidden fighters spring from ambush. The overconfident enemy recoils in surprise, outflanked and outsmarted. Who will prevail, the swift or the sly?

This Duel Decks release will be available on September 5th later this year. What’s unique about this release is that it will be the first in the Duel Decks series to use the new Magic: the Gathering card frames. Wizards commented saying that they’ve given a three-letter code to each Duel Decks release in order to help organize the releases, and the new frame will utilize this code.

I can only imagine what we’ll see in this Duel Decks release. I’m thinking that we’ll be getting a red/green combination for speed, while cunning could possibly run blue/white. Then again, it’s all a mystery, so we’ll have to wait and see closer to the release date for the decklists!
