One of Raine's biggest hobbies has always been gaming. It all started with an Atari and spread out to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. As an artist, Raine takes pride in painting models for games as well as making his own terrain. He's also been a writer for many years, working both in the journalism industry and writing pieces of fiction. He decided to create Initiative : Tabletop as a platform to talk about all things gaming that he simply thought were cool, and reviewing games became a part of it!

Privateer Press Site Overrun by the Bodgers

Privateer Press Logo

If you mosey on over to the official Privateer Press site you’ll notice that things seem a bit…odd. All of the photos on the site have been boarded up and you can see some strange creatures hanging out in different places. What exactly is going on? In the latest Privateer Insider we get some light shed on the situation.

According to the post, the Privateer Press staff has received reports that a lot of strange things are happening down on the Bodgers section of the site. No one knows exactly what’s going on, but the general consensus is that it’s dangerous. In response to this, Privateer Press has rolled out security initiative: B.O.A.R.D.

What is B.O.A.R.D? Well, the post explains the protocol as a systematic approach to online and personal safety. Here’s what the acronym stands for:

1. Barricade

The first step in any security plan should always be to hastily secure any and all conceivable points of entry, using any object within arms’ reach. We here at Privateer Press have secured our doors and windows with desks, chairs, bookcases, and piles of as-yet unannounced models like…well, never mind. I won’t bore you with the details.

2. Obscure

By which I mean “hide.” Find the darkest, smallest hidey-hole you can, and stay put. Don’t talk, don’t move, and don’t breathe more than is absolutely necessary.

3. Appeal for Help

We’ve called in special support from our good friends, the Bodgers. Not only are they notoriously resourceful, but we hear they have a lot of experience repelling attacks of this nature lately. With allies like the Bodgers on your side, what could possibly—?

4. Run!

Oh, sweet mother of Morrow, they’ve broken through! Run! Everyone run for your lives! Arrrrrgh! The bites! So many bites….!

5. Durrrrrgglglglghgrrrrrrr

Mrrrrrgh. Gerrrrhrmmmmpph. Blerrrrrghh.

I still can’t decipher what’s going on, but I think I’ve a clue. The company has been working on Zombies: Keep Out for a little while now, and the images posted all over the site seem so be zombie-esque. In some images you see Bodger goblins being chased by colorful zombies, while other images have zombie heads super-imposed on them. Honestly the whole situation is quite amusing, and if you haven’t checked out the site yet I urge you too. Maybe something awesome will be posted later today?
