Fantasy Flight Games has announced a whole bunch of releases for this week, and plenty of new things are available now for our favorite games by the publisher. We decided to roll all of these releases into one article so you can get all of your Fantasy Flight cravings satiated at once. Aren’t we thoughtful?
First up for the announcement are the expanded Hired Gun Specialization Decks for Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG. These decks make it easier for GMs and players both keep track of and manage character and NPC talents, abilities, and more. New and veteran players alike will be able to use these reference cards and they’ll help keep your game exciting and fast-paced.
The Heroes and Legends Force Pack for Star Wars: The Card Game is also available. The deck introduces a new objective set for the Imperial Navy, which includes brand new ways to push the boundaries of the game’s struggle of Force. This Force Pack also puts focus on the Dark Troopers project, a high-priority project being run on the factory ship Arc Hammer. Players will get two Phase I Dark Troopers in the pack, units are both Droids and Troopers. The favor isn’t all on the dark side, however, as the Rebels also get some heroes of their own. Which side will you play?
Switching gears to some board gaming, brand new Lieutenant Packs are available for Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition. Four new packs are on the shelves corresponding to the Shadow of Nerekhall expansion for the game. Players are now able to pick up Rylan Olliven, Tristayne Olliven, Verminous, and Gargan Mirklace. The lieutenant tokens from Shadows of Nerekhall can be replaced with these new plastic miniatures and cards. They’ll bring a lot more excitement to your games, and you can find out more specifics on the lieutenants on Fantasy Flight’s official page.
Staying with Descent Second Edition, Shadow of Nerekhall is now available for the game. You’ve finally made it to the tall, looming walls of Nerekhall. Now it’s times to discover the buried secrets that lie within. You’ll have to work together with your fellow heroes to find out whether Nerekhall is under an outside attack or by some force locked within the city walls. Four new heroes, four new lieutenants, and a whole bunch of extras will come with the expansion, adding depth and danger to your Descent games. Coupled with the new Lieutenant Packs the expansion offers a brand new world to explore with menacing creatures waiting to trip your every move.
Finally, we’ll be taking a look at the Android: Netrunner LCG. A brand new Data Pack, Double Time, is available for the game. As usual it will include sixty new cards, three copies each of twenty different cards. This cycle focuses more on trace attempts, bad publicity, and Double events and operations. Each faction will find a little something in this pack, and there will be plenty of toys to play with on the net. There’s a sweet bit of deck tech in the announcement article that’s worth reading before you pick up your copy.
If this didn’t get your gaming ich going, then you need to pinch yourself. There’s plenty of great stuff available now for some of Fantasy Flight’s greatest games. I recently jumped back into Netrunner, so I know I’ll be picking up the Double Time Data Pack, but what about you, readers? What has your interest piqued with these releases?
