Trains was a big deal at Gen Con last year. In the game you must manage resources and use their deck building skills to meet end-game conditions and score points, all while assembling train routes and more. If you’re curious about Trains, check out our review from Uncle Ed! AEG isn’t ready to let the excitement die down just yet, though, as they’ve just announced a similar game: Planes.
Coming later this year, Planes plays along the same play style as Trains. The game thrusts players into the role of furious passengers as they push their way through a crowded airport to reach their flight before it takes off. Other players, along with neutral travelers, will make your trek difficult, and it will take all you’ve got to push through the crowd. There will be variable maps, and cards that will affect play style and scoring. It’ll be crazy!
There’s no solid release date yet, but I am sure the game will be ready in time for Gen Con. With Trains already on the shelf, Planes will help keep travel in the gaming world covered. I just can’t wait to see Monster Trucks, Buses, and Boats. That’ll really get the blood pumping!
