Launched recently on Kickstarter, VOID RPG brings a unique twist to the tabletop world. VOID RPG features a classless system, allowing players to play the character by motive, rather than being restricted by class and endless number crunching. In addition, the free flowing sorcery system allows players to make up their own spells that fit the scenario, with player’s imagination being the only limitation. Slavic, Mediterranean, and Middle-Easten mythology and folklore come together in VOID RPG, a world that has been in development for the last decade!
In VOID RPG, you will belong to one of seven races inhabiting Aenar. The mechanics in this game were streamlined so that players won’t spend long periods of time flipping through rulebooks for clarification. The four characteristics of Strength, Agility, Mental, and Sorcery define a character, allowing players to combine any of these. These traits contribute to the two main pools of life in the game, Stamina and Sanity. Additionally, each player creates their own belief system, leaving no boundaries to define good or evil.
So, why Kickstarter? VOID RPG is actually complete in regards to the written portions, but they need help paying artists for the illustrations and to pay for editing and Kickstarter fees. The intention is to release VOID RPG as a free PDF in the future, but those that believe in this project are being requested to help. Doing so will get you mentions in the book, and even softcover ($30 pledge level) and hardcover ($50 pledge level) versions of the book.
Details on how to play the game are available on the Kickstarter page, as well as downloads you will need such as character sheets and action counter sheets. I really like the idea of a classless RPG system, and will be following the page for more updates. We were told that a video showing how to play the game is coming soon, so be on the lookout for that! This project ends on March 31st, so head on over to their funding page and check out the information that they have available!
