One of Raine's biggest hobbies has always been gaming. It all started with an Atari and spread out to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. As an artist, Raine takes pride in painting models for games as well as making his own terrain. He's also been a writer for many years, working both in the journalism industry and writing pieces of fiction. He decided to create Initiative : Tabletop as a platform to talk about all things gaming that he simply thought were cool, and reviewing games became a part of it!

Game Developerz Programs Itself Onto Kickstarter

Game Developerz Card Game

Most gamers out in the community are dying for two things: more games to play and the ability to create games of their own. The team over at Onion Squire has found a way to satiate both of those desires in one package: the Game Developerz Card Game that’s now on Kickstarter. In juts 56 hours the game has already funded, and now Onion Squire is looking to bust through stretch goals for the project.

In Game Developerz you run your own studio, working for publishers like Electric Farts, Youbeflop, and Nightvision Lizard. Using the game’s 160 playing cards and 60 coinz tokens you’ll hire your own staff, work to develop technologies, and create the best video game the community has ever heard of. Along the way random event cards will pop up that affect the whole game at hand, so you’ll need to remain flexible! At the end of the game, the company that has the highest BETASCORE will win.

Game Developerz is a great business-development game wrapped up in beautiful artwork. Onion Squire has really pulled out all the stops so far with this campaign and the only place for it to go is up. For about $25 you can get a copy of the game with free shipping to the US. The company already has a few expansions lined out on the campaign, and just from a first look they may be must-haves for the core game. Two stretch goals have been busted through already, and the campaign looks to hit more as the days go on – there’s only 31 left on the project. I’m personally hoping that the campaign makes it past the 17k stretch goal so we can get the 2-player rules, as I think this would be a great game for two people. We’ll have to see where it goes, but I’m pretty confident that there’ll be a lot of surprises in store for backers. If you haven’t go over to the Game Developerz Kickstarter page and input your pledge!
