Kid-Friendly Card Game, Otters! On Kickstarter

Alright folks, normally we write up blurbs about cool Kickstarter projects with weeks to go until funding date, but I had to make an exception. My browsing led me to stumble on this cool little 10 minute kid’s game called Otters!, and felt that our readers needed to know about it. Michael Iachini from Clay Crucible Games (creator of Chaos & Alchemy) set out to design an otter-based card game that is perfect for kids as young as 6, all the way to adults!

In Otters!, locations called Playgrounds are placed on the table. Players choose otters from their hands to place on each location in effort to claim the plot of land for their own personal play place! When the number of otters you own equal the number at the location, you take it! And the player with the most locations at the end of the game wins!

Michael says that he took some inspiration from AEG’s Smash Up, but added his own adorable twist to the game, as he’s a big fan of otters. A $12 pledge gets you a deck of Otters! which is enough for 2 players, and you can add additional decks for $9/each to make the game playable with 3-4 players. Now the kicker – Otters! only has 30 hours left, so check it out! There are many videos on gameplay and detailed description of the history of the game, and it has already funded so it is a sure thing! If you’re looking for a fun game to play with your kids to start teaching them strategy in a cute way, Otters! is something you should check out!
