DreadBall Xtreme Up on Kickstarter, Already Fully Funded

DreadBall Xtreme Models

Earlier this week, we mentioned the announcement of the upcoming DreadBall Xtreme game from Mantic Games. The game just went to Kickstarter and has already been fully funded. For the next 23 days the campaign will be blasting through stretch goals, and since this is a Mantic project you know that these goals will be totally awesome.

DreadBall Xtreme is the underground sports game of the future. Following up to the successful DreadBall miniatures game, Xtreme takes it to, well, the extreme. There’s more violence, intimidating sponsors, light rules, and even more risk with this underground version of the Futuristic Sports Game.

From the campaign, here’s a bit about what’s new in this version:

– No Referee = More Violence for Everyone: with no one to stop the bloodshed, anything goes! Sucker punches and stomps are the norm, and the introduction of explosive collars, deadly traps and bloodsucking aliens only increase the level of violence.

– Customize your Battlefield: games are organized in prisons and warehouses at a moment’s notice, using industrial scenery to shake things up – everywhere from the scoring zone to the ball launch location can change!

– Play as Enigmatic Sponsors: the powerful organizers behind the game, Sponsors dictate your play-style and are experts in intimidation, blackmail and illegal gambling. Best of all, Sponsors allow you to build entirely unique teams out of any player combination you like!

For $75 you can pick up a full copy of the DreadBall Xtreme game, including a digital copy of the game’s rulebook. Here’s what you get inside the box:

I’ve dabbled in DreadBall a bit and it’s a ton of fun. This version of the game appeals more to me, though, probably because it’s all “no holds barred” and whatnot. I am certainly intrigued with the included teams, because who doesn’t like a team of super hot, blue, mohawked chicks? There’s plenty of room to get in on this bloody action, so check out the DreadBall Xtreme Kickstarter page and throw down your pledge.
