Forsaken Lore Expansion for Eldritch Horror Announced

Forsaken Lore Eldritch Horror

Eldritch Horror has been a hit amongst fans of the Old Ones, and it’s been mentioned numerous times as a perfect gateway game to get fans into the Eldritch series from Fantasy Flight (because not all of us have 6 hours to play Arkham Horror). It was a big game to see at Gen Con last year, and since its release many players have become mad with obsession over it. Fantasy Flight is hoping to add to that madness as they’ve just announced Forsaken Lore, a slithery expansion for Eldritch Horror.

Forsaken Lore focuses on Yig, the Father of Serpents. While previously defeated Old Ones claw at the world, attempting to reclaim it once more, brand new Epic Monsters and deadly Encounters keep investigators racing all over the globe to stop the world from collapsing. Cultists of Yig, along with the Serpent People, travel across the world hoping to conquer it for their serpentine master. What do these beings bring with them? Something devastating to investigators – a condition called Poisoned, which stops you from gaining health or sanity while resting.

Forsaken Lore Eldritch Horror Yig

Forsaken Lore doesn’t just introduce Yig and his cultists, however. New Mysteries for the Ancient Ones are included with the expansion, along with 88 new research cards to help investigators uncover the truths of these Ancient Ones hellbent on bringing the world to its end. Also included are new Spells, Expeditions, and Encounters, so there will be plenty to keep the game fresh.

This expansion will be releasing during the second quarter of this year. It looks like it will add a lot of freshness to the game to keep investigators on their toes. Besides, what can go wrong with a bunch of snakes, cultists, and snake people anyway?
