The Elves of Mirkwood – More Releases for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Even  though we received some crippling news for Games Workshop earlier this week, I am still excited and hopeful for The Hobbit Strategy Battle Game. As a huge Lord of the Rings and Tolkien fan in general, I really want to see this game continue to press on and succeed. Today on the Games Workshop site we see some new models that are available for The Hobbit, releasing for The Desolation of Smaug.

These releases focus on the sickened forest of Mirkwood. As the Necromancer grows in power, more of the forest succumbs to the darkness washing over it. Those who inhabit the forest and call it home are ready to fight back at this evil entity who threatens their way of life. Enter the forest elves of Mirkwood, ready to charge into battle.

Releases like Legolas Greenlead, Tauriel, and even Thranduil, King of Mirkwood show the might of the forest elves. These models are uniquely sculpted, and show action like never before. You can even pick up a set of Mirkwood Rangers and their Captains while you’re at it to build a complete set of elves with which to do battle. Finally, Beorn, the mighty bear-man, stands vigilant, ready to protect his land at all costs. Check out the photos below, and head over to the Games Workshop site to grab these models for yourself.
