Written Review – Crabs Adjust Humidity Volume Two

crabsadjusthumidity2

Well, in case you have lost that sense of newness that came with the “crappy little third-party, unofficial expansion” to Cards Against Humanity, I have good news for you. The folks at Vampire Squid Cards brought their minds together again to bring more appalling options to your party game. The second volume of this parody has arrived and we were privileged to get a copy of it to play and give you our thoughts, so lets get to it!

We’re going to throw in another NSFW tag here, you’ve been warned!

What Comes In It?

In true expansion fashion, volume two of Crabs Adjust Humidity comes with 80 white cards bearing ridiculous answers, and 32 black cards that will make you reach for those absurd answers. These come packaged in a small box with a flip top and the Crabs Adjust Humidity logo.

Where’s the rulebook? We’re hoping that if you’re looking at expansions and accessories to the inspirational Cards Against Humanity, that you don’t need no stinkin’ rulebook.

Playing and What’s Changed

We’re going to take another leap of faith and assume that you already know how to play the game. For those that don’t, check out the review of Volume One for a brief overview.

Something that did change about this most recent volume is the font, and the logo. Previously, the font on the front and backs of these expansion sets matched that of its mother-game. With Volume Two, the font has changed up a bit to differentiate the sets. Also, the cards have a red tag in the bottom right corners with the Crabs Adjust Humidity Logo for easy identification.

Cards on the right are from Volume One, cards on the left from Volume Two

“You have my sword.” “And you have my bow.” “And my minimum wage!”

What to say about expansions to this hilarious game? They seem to keep getting better, that’s for sure. I will say that a downfall to many party games is that if they get overplayed, the enjoyment level can drop off after a while. I think this is why expansions to this particular game are important. They keep the game “moist”, if you will, and Crabs Adjust Humidity delivers on that need again.

If the game has already been a hit with your gaming group, or among your non-gaming peers, I would consider this deck to add to the fun. The laughter that will resound around the table in response to these answers and off-the-wall questions will make sure your night is anything but dull. With references to our pop culture, geek realms, and the ugly parts of our humanity, you’re sure to discover something about your friends that you may not have known before.
