Games Workshop Posts New Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Releases, Announces Weekly White Dwarf

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was an amazing movie. I really think Peter Jackson is doing the book justice by bringing all of Tolkien’s characters to life like we’ve not seen before. When it comes to tabletop, however, The Hobbit Strategy Battle Game allows you to recreate epic battles from Middle Earth right on your game table. Games Workshop has already got a nice line of models available both for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and they’ve just posted their new releases for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Just recently I picked up a set of Hunter Orcs on Fel Wargs. The set was easy to assemble, and even through priming the models’ details shone through tremendously. Adding to the ever-growing assortment of models is a new line specifically from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Being added to the line are models such as Azog, Thrain, the Grim Hammers, and Thrain the Broken.

These releases accompany the news that the White Dwarf magazine will be going weekly. Starting Saturday, February 1st the White Dwarf magazine will be releasing each week, with a new magazine entitled Warhammer Visions releasing monthly. White Dwarf will continue to contain everything that’s new and exciting in the hobby the week it releases, from news and information on the week’s new releases, interviews, painting, and much more.  There’s only 16 days to go for this to take effect, so get ready to get your White Dwarf on each week, friends!
