Reaper Miniatures Releases New Master Series Paints

As a model painter there are a lot of tools that I need to have at my disposal. I need to make sure I have sturdy, strong brushes, a well-cleaned water container, a nice surface to paint on, palettes that can stand up to wear and tear, and of course, reliable paints. I’ve recently been switching from Vallejo to Citadel paints and I’ve been quite happy so far. When choosing paints you have to pick up a brand you can get behind, because the colors are what will make your models stand out.

Among the model painting/wargaming community a lot of players stand behind Reaper paints. Reaper Miniatures is a company that has created a giant name for themselves among tabletop groups all across the world. They’ve successfully funded Kickstarters for giant lots of models, and they’ve got a line of paints that reflect the same care and quality that their models show. While their current line is still widely popular, Reaper has just announced their brand new line of paints that they’re calling the Master Series.

According to the Reaper website, the main points of the new Master Series paints are as follows:

Master Series Paints Core Colors

  • Excellent for thinned paint applications like layering, washes and glazes
  • Smooth and fluid right out of the bottle means less thinning required
  • Enhanced flow properties make painting small details easier
  • 216 colors, including liners, inks, washes, primers, sealers, and additives
  • Triad system makes shading and highlighting colors a snap
  • Sold in 1/2 oz dropper bottles
  • Dries matte
  • 100% compatible with the MSP HD range
  • Airbrush-friendly
  • Non-Toxic, Water Soluble

Master Series Paints HD

  • Excellent for laying down fast base-coats
  • New high-density pigments give increased coverage with smooth consistency
  • The same great flow properties as MSP Core Colors
  • 38 unique colors expand the range of the MSP Core Colors triad system
  • Sold in 1/2 oz dropper bottles
  • 36 colors and two bonus colors also offered in two sets of 19 colors each
  • Dries matte
  • 100% compatible with the MSP Core Colors range
  • Airbrush-friendly
  • Non-Toxic, Water Soluble

From the site you can build your own paint set which comes in two different versions. You can get a 54-color set for $184.99 and a 108-color set for $329.99. Both sets include a paint caddy and are shipped right to your door! If you’re already a Reaper paints fan this may be something to bolster your collection with, and if you’re looking for a new line of paints you may want to give the Master Series line a try. It works for orcs, warjacks, heroes, and just about anything else you can think of!
