Magic 2015 Announced

Magic 2015

It’s that time of year again, starting a new year fresh also means starting a new year of Magic: the Gathering with an updated Core Set. Wizards of the Coast has just announced Magic 2015, the newest Core Set coming to the game this summer. We get a new Core Set each year, and while Magic 2014 was a step-up compared to previous sets, players are already hungry for something to tie in with the recently released Theros set.

Magic 2015 will be releasing on July 18th this year. Game Day will be held on August 9-10th right after the set’s initial release. Finally, Magic Online will see the set on July 28th. The Magic 2015 Pro Tour will take place on August 1-3rd in the great city of Portland, Oregon.

Magic 2015 will include 269 new cards that will supplement the already existing sets in current rotation. With this set’s release, Magic 2014 will understandably rotate out of the Standard format. We’ll soon see previews, I imagine, so stay tuned. With the release image Wizards posted, I’m itching to see what will carry the brunt of this new Core Set.
