One of Raine's biggest hobbies has always been gaming. It all started with an Atari and spread out to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. As an artist, Raine takes pride in painting models for games as well as making his own terrain. He's also been a writer for many years, working both in the journalism industry and writing pieces of fiction. He decided to create Initiative : Tabletop as a platform to talk about all things gaming that he simply thought were cool, and reviewing games became a part of it!

Gen Con 2014 Exhibit Hall Sells Out In Record Time

The year isn’t yet at its end and we’ve already received some amazing news about Gen Con 2014, the Best Four Days in Gaming. This past year’s event was magnificent, and plans for next year are already underway. News coming down from Gen Con LLC is that the Exhibit Hall for next year’s convention has already sold out in record time, and that’s amazing!

Gen Con has sold out its Exhibit Hall in prior years, but this news comes two months earlier than it ever has before. On top of this, Gen Con increased the size of the Exhibit Hall for next year by 14%, and the waiting list exceeds over 30 companies as it stands right now. This will undoubtedly mean that there will be plenty more to see come next year!

Scott Elliot, Gen Con’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, released a statement explaining the company’s excitement:

“Without the great long-term relationships that Gen Con has developed with its exhibitors, the explosive growth that Gen Con has enjoyed over the past five years would not have been possible. Companies from across the globe know that Gen Con is the place to tap into the world’s most passionate gaming audience, and our exhibitors deliver a tremendous amount of value to the show’s attendees. Last year, more than 360 companies exhibited at Gen Con, and this year the number will grow much larger.”

I already can’t wait for Gen Con 2014, and the countdown to the event has already begun. There is always plenty to see, and even more people to meet when this convention comes to town. If you haven’t already, make sure you start planning to make it to the event next year. Badges for the event go on pre-registration starting January 26th!
