Quick News Nov 9 – Nov 15

Good Friday afternoon readers, and welcome to another engaging post about…well, you know. All the stuff we didn’t write regular posts about! The weeks in recent past have been busy, but this week has been especially crazy as we finalize details for Day of Reckoning this weekend, and hope that things settle down a bit afterwards! So, we won’t bore you any longer, here is your Quick News!

Release Announcements

  • Another faction preview for the next Smash Up expansion was teased on Facebook this week!
  • WizKids announced a DOTA 2 Heroclix set this week for fans.
  • Days of Wonder has been working with 3D Printers to make 3d models of the characters from Smallworld, but have only produced a handful. They are available for sale at $100/each in their store. However, if you must have them all, you can buy 3 and get the 4th for free!
  • Many new models were announced from Privateer Press this week, including Bane Riders and Satyrs!
  • The Star Wars LCG is getting ready to go multiplayer! More information at the Fantasy Flight page!

Kickstarters / Crowdfunders We Like

What We Are Playing

  • Jacob and Christina had a lot of time to play some of their favorites this week, as they played Zombicide, Dungeon Roll, and lots and lots of Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. And when I say lots, I mean playing all the way through and up to Skinsaw Murders! They also played through the Proteus Engine RPS which we provided a demo for last week at The Common Room.
  • With some visiting friends, Kae and Raine busted out, you guessed it, Tales of the Arabian Nights again. Also, Superfight came in from the Kickstarter, and we played it for quite a while 2 nights in a row! Kae also played an extra couple games of Puzzle Me! before writing its review this week.
  • More games will be coming soon in regards to what Kae and Raine have played during the week, because a lot of time has been put into preparing for Day of Reckoning this Saturday. If you are in the area and like Warmachine / Hordes, you should know about this event!

Other Tasty Bits

  • It sold out before the end of its first day, but is worth a mention. The guys at Cards Against Humanity must’ve wanted to support the postal industry in their area this year, because of this. That’s right, for those that signed up and sent them $12, they are sending 12 gifts in December. Did you get in on it?
  • Those curious about the flooding that affected Steve Jackson should read his post on the damage.

After this weekend, you can start to see our review count increase, as well as some possible battle reports pertaining to our miniatures games. We will be doing photo coverage of Day of Reckoning and posting it to Facebook and Twitter as its happening, but there will be a wrap-up article here early next week to cover what isn’t done live. Have a great weekend, and happy gaming!
