Print On Demand Scenario – The Stone of Erech Now Available

At Gen Con 2013, Fantasy Flight Games introduced a stand-alone scenario for The Lord of the Rings : The Card Game called The Stone of Erech. Now, the folks at FFG have made this pack available via their Print On Demand program. For those that don’t know, their Print on Demand program produces decks as ordered in a different location than their headquarters, so that customers don’t have to wait for the product to have another print run as before.

In this scenario, you are called upon by the Lord of Lamedon in efforts to rescue his son, Derufin, who has not been heard from for days. The adventure leads players into  Blackroot Vale, a place with a legendary fear of the Dead Men of Dunharrow! Across three parts, your quest is timed, with the intensity of the evils you face increasing as time progresses from Eventide to Midnight. Even avid players at the Gen Con play-through weren’t prepared for what would happen once Midnight arrived.

The enemies in The Stone of Erech have the keyword “Spectral” which changes the order of combat and how it progresses. To get over your fear of these awful beings, you heroes must first pass a check of both courage and will. Once past that, their Willpower stat is used instead of their normal Attack stat, while defense remains the same.

For $14.95, you can rest assured that a copy is being printed soon after your order and on its way to you. Can you face the horrors that lie within Blackroot Vale and return Derufin to his father, or will your heroes fall to the Undead nightmares that are waiting for them? Race against the clock to avoid the area’s worst foes and prove your worth to the Lord of Lamedon!
