Duel Decks: Jace vs Vraska Announced

  • by

We’ve left the legendary city of Ravnica for the fields of Theros, but that doesn’t mean the characters from the city have been forgotten. The history of Ravnica is what pulled me into Magic: the Gathering, and our recent return to the city was a brief, yet exciting one. For those players who still long to Planeswalk back to check in on Ravnica’s dealings, Wizards of the Coast has just announced Duel Decks: Jace vs Vraska.

Jace Beleren is a skilled mind mage whose hands sewed peace in the city. Though not his birthplace, Ravnica has become an adopted home to Jace. He has become the living Guildpact, the embodiment of the guilds’ agreement to share all of the city’s power, and he’s made many sacrifices to ensure that peace is upheld.

Vraska, on the other hand, was born in Ravnica. A deadly gorgon, she works as an assassin for hire and follows no one’s rules but her own. She uses the vast tunnels of Ravnica’s undercity as a means of escape when she takes down a mar, traveling unseen into the city’s underbelly. Vraska deals highly with the Golgari guild, though she alone has no specific allegiance.

Players will put these two Planeswalker’s power to the test with the new Duel Decks: Jace vs Vraska. The product will be available on March 14th, next year. It will retail for $19.99, and players will get Jace’s Architect of Thought version. I’m not too enthralled with the art for the Planeswalkers, but I’ll withhold judgment until I see the decklists.
