King of Tokyo: Halloween Coming from Iello Games

King of Tokyo - Halloween - Box

Something that we learned about at Gen Con that filled us with an insurmountable amount of excitement was that Iello Games is planning to release a Halloween expansion for their smash hit King of Tokyo game. We previously reviewed the game this week, and it’s definitely something that every gamer should own. We’re really happy to finally be able to share this information, and King of Tokyo is about to get spooky!

King of Tokyo - Halloween - Boogey Woogey

The terrifying Boogey Woogey!

The King of Tokyo Halloween expansion introduces costumes for each of the Monsters in the game, including two brand new Monsters to play as: Pumpkin Jack and Boogey Woogey! Each of the new Monsters comes with their own Evolution cards for playing with the Power Up! expansion, so you don’t have to worry about anything being left out. What’s even more, is that the expansion comes with a special promo card for the next standalone King of Tokyo game that will be released next year!

King of Tokyo - Cards Costumes

The Costume cards act as normal power-up cards that can be purchased as they come out of the deck. The Costumes all add different abilities, fitting the look they’re set after. Of course, they are shuffled into the original deck to add plenty of new variety. A new black and orange set of dice comes with the expansion, not only adding more dice to the game, but fitting the expansion’s theme quite well.

Players can expect to pick up this expansion this October, just in time to celebrate a very spooky holiday! I am so excited for Pumpkin Jack that he will replace Pandakai as my favorite Monster of all. Halloween just happens to be a favorite holiday of mine, so it’s definitely going to be time to celebrate. Maybe we’ll play the game while wearing costumes?
